Rs9.5 Billion Education Package Announced for Chief Minister Model Schools in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has unveiled a major education development initiative with the approval of 72 Chief Minister Model Schools across the province, backed by an allocation of Rs9.5 billion. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, where officials presented detailed plans regarding the structure, facilities, and operational framework of the proposed institutions. The model schools will establish separate campuses for boys and girls in districts throughout the province, aiming to improve access to quality education and modern learning environments. During the meeting, the chief minister directed authorities to immediately formulate a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework to govern the institutions and ensure uniform standards. Officials stated that the schools will be equipped with advanced educational facilities and staffed by professionally trained teachers to enhance learning outcomes. A separate set of regulations will also be introduced to strengthen accountability and educational performance. The announcement comes as the provincial government continues broader reforms in the education sector, including the outsourcing of government schools. According to officials, plans have been approved for 2,000 primary schools, with 500 already outsourced. Each institution is receiving government support to cover operational costs, salaries, and administrative requirements, reflecting KP’s push to modernize public education.
