Punjab Revamps Matriculation Practical Examination System for 2026
The Chief Minister’s Task Force on Examination Reforms has unveiled strict new regulations for Matriculation Practical Examinations 2026 aimed at strengthening transparency and merit across all examination centers. The reforms are designed to eliminate reliance on pre-prepared practical notebooks and ensure that students demonstrate genuine laboratory skills throughout the academic year. Teachers and examination staff have been instructed to strictly implement the updated guidelines as any violation may result in disciplinary action. Under the new system, teachers must personally verify each student’s practical work and self-attest notebooks along with handwriting to confirm authenticity. Market-purchased or externally prepared notebooks will no longer be accepted, making it compulsory for students to complete their own laboratory tasks. Additionally, submitted practical work will be verified and then cancelled or destroyed to prevent reuse and illegal circulation of material. Strict action will be taken against staff or examiners who fail to follow the instructions, ensuring accountability across all institutions. Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize Punjab’s examination system and restore credibility in practical assessments. It aims to build fairness, discipline, and stronger academic standards in coming years across Punjab education.
