Green Investment Push: 11 Pakistani Startups Join Prestigious UK Accelerator
Pakistan’s climate innovation ecosystem has received a major boost as 11 environmentally focused companies have been selected for the 2026 cohort of the UK-backed Climate Finance Accelerator Pakistan programme. The chosen ventures represent key sectors essential for sustainable development, including clean energy, green transportation, waste management, circular economy solutions, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable construction, and financial inclusion. Over the next five months, participating businesses will receive specialized mentoring, technical guidance, and investment-readiness support from local and international experts. The initiative aims to help these enterprises refine their business models, strengthen environmental impact strategies, and attract private sector financing. Later this year, the selected firms will present their projects directly to climate-focused investors, opening doors to potential partnerships and funding opportunities. Since its launch in 2022, the accelerator has played a significant role in connecting Pakistani climate ventures with capital, helping mobilize nearly $40 million in investments. Globally, the programme has facilitated more than $500 million in climate-related funding for innovative projects. Experts believe the latest cohort highlights Pakistan’s growing potential in green entrepreneurship and demonstrates how local startups can contribute to reducing emissions, creating sustainable jobs, improving resource efficiency, and supporting the country’s transition toward a more resilient and low-carbon economy.
