PMYP Joins UNICEF and GenU to Expand Youth Skills and Opportunities

A high-level consultative meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad between Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, UNICEF Country Representative Pernille Ironside, and Generation Unlimited CEO Kevin Frey to strengthen cooperation on youth empowerment initiatives in Pakistan. The discussions centered on expanding joint efforts in digital inclusion, skills training, innovation, and employment-oriented opportunities for the country’s growing youth population. A key focus of the meeting was the remarkable progress of the Digital Youth Hub, which has now attracted over 800,000 registered users, reflecting strong engagement and rising demand for accessible online learning and career development platforms. Kevin Frey appreciated the initiative, stating that the platform demonstrates the ambition and potential of Pakistani youth and highlighted the need for future-ready skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan termed youth as the nation’s most valuable asset and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating sustainable pathways for education, employment, and empowerment. He also shared updates on upcoming policy frameworks, including the National Youth Employment Policy and National Adolescent and Youth Policy, aimed at expanding opportunities nationwide. The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to deepen collaboration between PMYP, UNICEF, and Generation Unlimited to further enhance digital access, skill-building, and long-term socio-economic development across Pakistan.
