Major Step in Tech Education: Pakistan Starts Cybersecurity Internship Program

Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team has introduced a new cybersecurity internship initiative designed to build a skilled digital workforce capable of safeguarding national online systems. The six-week training program aims to equip students and recent graduates with practical, industry-relevant expertise in modern cyber defense practices. Participants will receive hands-on exposure across multiple domains, including incident handling, threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, governance and compliance frameworks, digital forensics, software testing, and artificial intelligence applications in security. Under the supervision of experienced cybersecurity specialists, interns will gain real-time insight into cyber threat detection, security operations management, and evolving technological challenges faced in the digital landscape. The program is open to students and fresh graduates who are interested in building careers in cybersecurity. Applicants are required to have a basic understanding of computers and internet usage, while prior knowledge of coding, networking, or software development is considered beneficial but not compulsory. Officials stated that the initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to strengthen national cyber resilience by preparing a capable and future-ready workforce. Interested candidates can apply online through the official National Cyber Emergency Response Team portal, with the application deadline set for June 16, 2026.
