Paper Leak Controversy Resurfaces at Karachi Board

Authorities have confirmed that the Urdu Compulsory Part-II paper for Karachi’s intermediate examinations appeared online shortly after the exam began, triggering serious concerns over the security, confidentiality, and overall integrity of the examination system. According to initial reports, the paper began circulating on social media platforms within minutes of the test starting, raising urgent questions about how sensitive examination material was accessed and whether proper safeguards were followed during its distribution and handling. The incident has once again placed the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi under intense public scrutiny, with parents and students demanding immediate accountability and a transparent investigation into the breach. Many parents have questioned whether responsibility lies with examination staff or higher officials, and whether strict action will be taken if internal negligence or collusion is proven. The controversy has also revived earlier allegations regarding the board’s handling of malpractice and cheating networks, with critics arguing that repeated incidents point to systemic weaknesses. Although the board administration has not yet issued a formal detailed statement, pressure continues to mount from education stakeholders. Earlier reports had already highlighted disruption during matric examinations, including the relocation of around 170 examination centres across Karachi, which caused confusion among students. Additional allegations also suggested the involvement of officials and agents in unauthorised centre changes, with names such as Manzoor Solangi, Imran Butt, Raja Fayyaz, and Miraj Ali reportedly linked to inquiry findings submitted to authorities, further deepening concerns over governance.
