Education Update: Punjab Boards Extend Registration for Class 9 Students

Punjab’s educational boards have officially revised the registration timeline for Class 9 students enrolling in the 2026–28 academic session, offering much-needed relief to students and schools across the province. According to the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen, the updated schedule has been issued to ensure a smoother and more flexible admission process for regular candidates who were unable to complete formalities on time. Under the new notification, students can now submit their online registration and admission forms without any late fee until June 22, 2026. This extension is applicable across all boards in Punjab, including major institutions such as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore along with other regional boards. Authorities stated that the decision aims to support educational institutions in managing pending registrations efficiently while reducing pressure on students and parents. After the revised deadline, late registration will still be accepted from June 23 to July 7, 2026, but with an additional fee of Rs. 600 per student. Officials have urged all schools to strictly follow the updated schedule to avoid unnecessary delays and extra charges. The extension is expected to benefit thousands of students preparing for matric admissions across Punjab.
