‘e-Learn She Earn’ Programme Aims to Boost Women’s Employment in Punjab

The Punjab government has introduced a major women empowerment initiative titled “e-Learn She Earn” with a budget of Rs700 million to equip women with modern digital and tech-based skills. Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the programme is being conducted through a collaboration between the Punjab Skills Development Fund and the Women Development Department. The initiative offers free three-month online training courses in fields that are rapidly growing in the global freelance and remote work industry, including Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Virtual Assistance, and Digital Customer Support. To help women participate without financial or technical difficulties, selected candidates will receive free laptops, monthly stipends, internet support, and internationally recognised certifications after course completion. The programme mainly targets women aged 15 to 35 from across Punjab, while some specialised training tracks are open for applicants up to 40 years old. Officials say the initiative aims to help women become financially independent and create online earning opportunities from home. Interested applicants can register through official PITB and PSDF portals, while admissions will be granted on merit after an aptitude assessment process.
