HEC Modernizes Academic Verification with Digital Attestation Platform
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has officially launched a fully online and paperless degree attestation system, introducing a major digital upgrade for students and professionals across the country. With the new system, applicants can now submit attestation requests anytime through the HEC e-Services Portal without visiting offices or sending documents through courier services. After successful verification, users will receive an electronic attestation certificate that can be downloaded directly from their online account and verified later through the official HEC verification platform. The updated process is designed to improve efficiency, reduce delays, and strengthen document security by eliminating manual handling. HEC has also clarified that only original academic degrees will be accepted under the new policy, while photocopies will no longer be processed for attestation. Applicants who already submitted requests under the previous system and paid the fee before the transition deadline will still be processed through the old method until June 30, 2026. Meanwhile, new applicants are encouraged to use the digital platform for quicker and more convenient processing. Previously issued attestation certificates will remain valid and continue to be verifiable online through the official portal.
