Pakistan Once Again Wins Prestigious Hajj Excellence Award
Pakistan has successfully concluded its Hajj 2026 operations on a high note, earning international recognition as Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf announced that the country has secured the prestigious Labbaitum Excellence Award for the second consecutive year, alongside three additional global awards for its private Hajj scheme. Speaking at a post-Hajj press briefing at the Pakistan Hajj Mission in Makkah, he said that this year’s arrangements reflected significant improvements, with the complaint ratio reduced to below one percent, marking a notable achievement in service delivery for pilgrims. He credited the success to strong coordination between the Government of Pakistan, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Pakistan Hajj Mission, and Saudi authorities under the special guidance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. With a quota of 180,000 pilgrims, Pakistan remains one of the world’s largest Hajj operators. The minister highlighted enhanced facilities including improved accommodation, transport, and catering services, while praising the expansion of the Road to Makkah project in Lahore, which enabled streamlined immigration for nearly 80 percent of pilgrims. He also appreciated medical support systems that assisted elderly and critical patients in completing rituals safely. Despite challenges posed by misinformation on social media, he said the operation remained successful. Preparations for Hajj 2027 have already begun.
