Sindh Launches Pink EV Scooter Scheme for Women in Hyderabad
Sindh government has officially expanded its Pink EV Scooter Scheme with a new distribution phase set for Hyderabad on May 22, aiming to make daily travel easier and safer for women across the province. The initiative is designed to support female students and working women by providing eco-friendly electric scooters that offer affordable and independent transportation. Authorities say the project is not only promoting clean energy solutions but also helping women gain greater mobility and confidence in their everyday lives. Along with the scooters, selected participants will receive professional driving lessons, helmets, and complete road safety training to encourage secure commuting. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon called the initiative a major step toward women empowerment and modern urban transport in Sindh. Officials added that the scooter scheme is part of a larger plan focused on upgrading public transport services, including electric buses and expansion of the Peoples Bus Service network in multiple cities. The government continues to introduce modern transport facilities to improve accessibility, sustainability, and convenience for women throughout Sindh.
