Good News for Pharmacy Students: Punjab Introduces New PharmD Internship Program

The Government of Punjab, through its Health & Population Department, has introduced a structured internship initiative for PharmD students, recent graduates, and postgraduate candidates under the Directorate of Drugs Control, with the objective of strengthening professional training and improving expertise within the pharmaceutical and regulatory sector. Officials stated that the program is open to candidates from public sector universities across the province and includes final-year PharmD students awaiting results, graduates who have completed their degree within the last two years, as well as individuals holding MPhil or Master’s degrees in relevant fields earned within the same timeframe. Applicants are required to apply exclusively through the official online portal, where they must create their profiles, upload all necessary documents, and complete the registration process as no manual or offline submissions will be accepted by the authorities. The deadline for submission of applications is May 12, 2026, with the portal closing at midnight. This initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to providing hands-on learning opportunities for pharmacy graduates while also improving healthcare delivery systems and strengthening drug regulation frameworks across Punjab. Authorities hope to boost practical skills and professional readiness further across.
