Teacher Attendance to Be Digitally Monitored Under New Sindh Initiative
To strengthen discipline and accountability in public education institutions, the Sindh Education Department has introduced a facial recognition based attendance system for all teaching and non teaching staff across the province, making registration compulsory in government schools now. The department announced that biometric onboarding will be completed during June and July, while from August onwards employees will record daily entry and exit through the upgraded digital attendance platform system accordingly implemented fully. Officials said the reform aims to improve transparency, ensure punctuality, and strengthen monitoring of staff attendance across Sindh school system in effective manner overall. A strict directive has been issued stating that staff who fail to complete biometric verification within the deadline may face suspension of salaries immediately without delay. The system will be linked directly with AG Sindh Treasury for payroll automation integration complete. It further states that more than two monthly absences may be treated as excessive leave affecting salary calculations policy strictly. Additionally deductions will be applied automatically for late arrivals or unauthorized absences reducing manual processing and strengthening accountability. Authorities have urged employees to comply with registration requirements to avoid penalties under framework new.
