Education Boost: Scholarships Rolled Out for Children of Overseas Pakistanis Under OPEF

The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has introduced a new scholarship initiative under the Overseas Pakistanis Education Fund (OPEF) aimed at providing financial support to the children and spouses of overseas Pakistanis pursuing higher education. This program is designed to reduce the financial pressure on families while encouraging students to continue their academic journey in both general and professional fields. The scholarships will be available for students enrolled in intermediate, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs, including high-demand disciplines such as MBBS, BDS, engineering, and various master’s degree courses. According to officials, applicants must have achieved a minimum of 60 percent marks or a 2.5 CGPA in their most recent academic results to be eligible for consideration. Additionally, either the parent or spouse must be a registered OPF member through a valid Protector of Emigrants registration, and the household income must not exceed Rs200,000 per month. The program also excludes students already receiving other scholarships in the same academic year, although special provisions are included for children of deceased OPF members under compassionate grounds. This initiative highlights OPF’s commitment to expanding educational access and empowering overseas Pakistani families through academic support and opportunity development.
