Higher Education Commission Announces Science Students Talent Hunt Across Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced a nationwide Talent Hunt Program aimed at discovering and nurturing high-achieving students in the field of science. This initiative is designed to encourage academic excellence by organizing competitive science-based assessments across Pakistan, giving young learners a platform to showcase their abilities. Outstanding participants will not only receive specialized training but may also be selected to represent the country in prestigious international science Olympiads. According to officials, top performers will gain access to fully funded preparatory programs and could secure admission in leading institutions such as the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Institute of Space Technology, with the possibility of studying without appearing in entrance examinations. The program also offers significant academic support, including full or partial fee waivers of up to 100%, monthly scholarships, and cash rewards exceeding Rs. 500,000 for exceptional achievers. Authorities have stated that this initiative is focused on strengthening Pakistan’s scientific talent pool, promoting merit-based opportunities, and encouraging students to pursue careers in research and innovation. Applications for the Talent Hunt Program are open until May 30, 2026, giving students across the country a chance to compete for a brighter academic future.
