Major Global Recognition: Pakistan Named Country of Honour at World Drone Congress
Pakistan made a powerful global appearance at the 10th World Drone Congress held in Shenzhen, China, where it was officially named the “Country of Honour” among more than 120 participating countries and regions. The prestigious international event brought together leading experts, policymakers, and over 1,200 technology firms to explore advancements in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous systems, and the rapidly expanding low-altitude economy. Representing Pakistan, Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), delivered a keynote address outlining the transformative concept of the “Machine Economy,” which integrates drones, blockchain technology, digital assets, and machine-to-machine communication into a unified innovation ecosystem. He emphasized how this convergence is set to reshape global industries by enhancing logistics, revolutionizing supply chains, strengthening data governance, and enabling smarter urban infrastructure. The integration of blockchain was highlighted as a foundational element ensuring transparency, security, and efficiency across autonomous networks while fostering regulatory compliance and international cooperation. Pakistan’s participation also reflected its growing commitment to building a digital-first economy through forward-looking policies in virtual assets and emerging technologies.
