From Local to Global: 50 Pakistani Entrepreneurs Receive Advanced Digital Market Training
A five-day intensive business accelerator program has successfully concluded in Islamabad under a joint initiative of the U.S. Mission Pakistan, the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN), and Tech Valley Pakistan, aimed at strengthening digital trade capabilities among local entrepreneurs. Titled “E-Commerce and Digital Trade: Building the U.S.-Pakistan Economic Partnership,” the program ran from June 8 to June 12 at the newly established headquarters of the U.S. Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). Fifty selected entrepreneurs from across the country participated after a competitive screening process, representing diverse sectors such as artisan crafts, agriculture, fashion, software development, and healthcare services. The training focused on equipping participants with modern e-commerce skills, including online store development, supply chain optimization, digital trade compliance, and AI-powered marketing strategies. At the closing ceremony, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Andrew Halus emphasized that entrepreneurship and innovation are central to economic growth, noting that the United States remains Pakistan’s largest export destination. He also highlighted that participants are now better positioned to access global digital markets with enhanced professional credentials, including Google Digital Marketing & E-Commerce certification. With support from Google for Education, participants developed operational online stores and personalized export roadmaps to scale internationally. The cohort also showcased products ranging from handcrafted goods to agricultural exports like dried mangoes, organic oils, and traditional fashion accessories. Tech Valley Pakistan provided technical expertise and training support throughout the program, reinforcing its global reach across multiple countries and its impact on over 500,000 learners worldwide.
