Pakistan Engineering Council Facilitates Employment for 1,300+ Engineers Nationwide

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has successfully placed more than 1,300 newly graduated engineers in a variety of leading public and private sector institutions under the second phase of its Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Placement Program. As part of this initiative, around 1,700 candidates were shortlisted through a fully digital and transparent balloting system conducted in March, ensuring fairness and merit-based selection. The remaining candidates will be accommodated in upcoming phases after completing required formal procedures. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice by offering structured industry exposure and practical training opportunities. Placements have been distributed across more than 60 organizations, including federal ministries, provincial departments, and institutions from regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring wide national representation. In a step toward regional inclusion, 300 positions were allocated specifically for graduates from Balochistan, all of which have been filled successfully. Selected engineers have already begun joining their workplaces, where they are undergoing orientation sessions and gaining hands-on experience in real engineering environments. The six-month program includes five months of field training and one month of professional skill development, along with a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 and a verified completion certificate. PEC leadership emphasized that this initiative strengthens Pakistan’s engineering talent pipeline and promotes merit-based career development.
