Karachi Kings Owner Urges PM Shehbaz to Allow Fans in PSL 11

The owner of Karachi Kings has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow spectators back into stadiums during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.

Salman Iqbal, owner of the franchise, expressed concern over matches being held in empty venues, stating that the absence of fans has significantly reduced the excitement and spirit of the tournament. He emphasized that crowd energy is a vital part of the league and plays a key role in enhancing both player performance and viewer engagement.

The appeal comes as PSL 11 is currently being played under restrictions, with matches limited to select venues in Karachi and Lahore, and without public attendance.

Franchise owners from across the league have echoed similar concerns, collectively urging the government to reconsider its decision. They highlighted that fans are the “heartbeat” of the PSL and their absence has made the tournament feel incomplete.

Officials have indicated that the restrictions were introduced to manage logistical and security considerations, while ensuring the tournament proceeds without delays.

The request from Karachi Kings’ owner reflects growing pressure on authorities to restore fan in stadiums, as stakeholders push to revive the full atmosphere of Pakistan’s super T20 league.
