PCB Bans Sri Lankan Star Dasun Shanaka from PSL for One Year

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned Sri Lankan all-rounder and T20 captain Dasun Shanaka from the Pakistan Super League for one year.

Shanaka, who was contracted with Lahore Qalandars for PSL 11, withdrew at the last moment to join Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026, breaching his contract. The ban makes him ineligible for PSL 12 in 2027.

This is the second such case after Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani received a two-year ban for a similar breach with Islamabad United. The PCB’s firm stance highlights the growing tension between PSL and IPL commitments.
