Vehicle Sales on the Rise: Pakistanis Buying More Cars in FY 2025–26
Pakistan’s automobile market is showing a strong recovery in FY 2025–26, with car sales and production rising sharply across the country. According to the latest data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association, 97,900 cars were purchased during the first eight months of the fiscal year, up from 67,267 units sold during the same period last year, reflecting a 45.53% growth in sales. Vehicle production also surged 52.31% to 104,652 units, highlighting rising consumer demand and improving economic activity. Leading brands recorded impressive gains: Honda sales increased 49.91%, Toyota Corolla and Yaris combined sales climbed 75.70%, Suzuki Swift nearly doubled with a 99.33% rise, and Hyundai Elantra sales grew to 1,743 units. Small cars dominated the market, with Suzuki Alto remaining the best-seller at 36,694 units. Production mirrored this growth across manufacturers, including Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, and Hyundai. Notably, electric vehicles entered the market, with 210 units of Dewan Honri-VE sold and 208 produced, signaling early adoption of EVs in Pakistan’s growing auto sector.
